On the outskirts of Amsterdam, near the protected village view of Sloten, lies the plot at Akersluis 8. Midvast has asked Common Affairs Architects to design a hotel that fits in style and mass with the current zoning plan and its immediate surroundings near the Sloten polder mill.
Common Affairs has designed a charming hotel that complements the surrounding architecture while being very modern in structure. A permit for a hotel with 52 rooms was granted in December 2020. However, due to COVID-19, there is currently also consideration for repurposing the plan for a care function.
