Midvast is developing a building at this prominent central corner in the Hamer area of Amsterdam North, featuring a mix of residential, commercial, and hospitality spaces.
The Machinefabriek is located next to the Exclusiva site along the Gedempt Hamerkanaal and Schaafstraat. Various landowners and developers are active in the Hamerkwartier. In collaboration with the municipality, the plan for further development and actual execution will be coordinated. The transformation into a live/work area will take place in phases, welcoming entrepreneurs and residents who contribute to the city's diversity.
The development principles focus on distinctive architecture, maintaining the industrial character, creating unique public spaces, and establishing a mixed-use area consisting of a residential program suitable for everyone, while also making room for various forms of businesses.
The project covers approximately 25,000 m² of gross floor area, with 30% designated for commercial use and 70% for residential purposes (200 apartments). The commercial functions will include office space, community services, hospitality, and/or industrial halls.
