Westzijde, Zaandam

Midvast has acquired several buildings along the Westzijde in the heart of Zaandam, at a unique location on the Zaan, for redevelopment.

The goal is to create a program primarily focused on high-quality housing in an urban setting, while preserving the characteristic appearance of the existing buildings and incorporating high-quality new construction. Additionally, there will be space for retail and/or hospitality businesses along the Westzijde.

The focus will be on maximizing the location's qualities, such as the connection between the city and the water, just as it was historically. It will be a place where residents of the Westzijde would meet with grocers and, via the Zaan, connect with local industries.
